ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½

Dale Raynor, Student Housing Hero

Meet Dale. He's been a landlord for over nine years and works with ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ to rent  out his properties to our students  who  are studying here far from home.

When Dale was in college, he was studying in a city three hours away from home. Moving there was tough - especially finding the right place to live. When he came back home and started working, he saw a chance to help students facing the same struggle with housing. While a student, Dale knew the best kind of rental  was one that was fully furnished and all-inclusive.  It makes life easier for  students when moving and knowing they had a fixed bill every month. That's the same model that Dale follows today - and it's working great for so many students.

If you're thinking about becoming a landlord for ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ students, Dale encourages you to take the plunge. Dale says  "I have been able to minimize my risks taking this path and it has provided me with an amazing opportunity to meet so many people all across Canada and even worldwide."

Highlights of Renting to Students

Dale has nothing but good things to say even after several years as a landlord. With a growing international community,  he's  been lucky to meet and get to know so many students new to Canada. They have been  respectful and ambitious, and  are interested in  Canadian culture - even Dale had the chance to learn about their cultures!

Dale wants the best for his tenants and knows it's hard for anyone living away from home and family. He wants his rentals to be a safe space that's  harassment-free and discrimination-free.  He hopes his tenants are respectful, and  encourages students to keep the house clean and tidy, not just for  showcasing  to future tenants, but also for their overall satisfaction.

Perks of ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Support

ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ has been a great support for Dale with his rentals and he's built a great relationship with Prateek, our Housing Associate. He knows when he reaches out, he'll be given a list of students looking for housing.   Having someone from the College involved is a great perk, adding an extra layer of security for both students and landlords, and making the whole process smoother and safer. When Dale gets a tenant through ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½, they're focused on their studies and respectful, making it a win-win for everyone.  Dale values the help he gets from Prateek and ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½.
